1. She can't be tamed.

2. No matter what anyone says, she won't stop doing her thang.

3. She's a sex positive role model for young women, who are all too frequently the target of sexual sabotage by zealous moralists.

I went to a Miley Cyrus concert last night, and it was a transcendent experience. I can see why the moral conservatives despise her, but I've got only two letters for them: one of them's F, and the other one's U. ;-p

Keep struttin' your stuff, Miley.

Not a fan but I think she gets more shit than she deserves, and I would not say it is all morale conservatives that dish it out. I work in the video game industry and the bulk of the people have either liberal or libertarian views and I have heard many complaints about her from all sides.

Personally, to me she just comes across as awkward, and after reading some interviews with her I understand why. She sort of is. She was asked about the tongue thing and she described it sort of a nervous response. She gets nervous when in the spotlight at times and her defense mechanism is to be a bit of a goof.

I can respect that, and it is a bit endearing.

That's interesting, because from interviews I've gotten the impression that she's very intelligent and uniquely self-aware. And at the concert, she wasn't nervous but incredibly confident. But if she does get nervous sometimes, that just proves that she's human and not some detached superstar - I felt that she forged a very genuine connection with her fans at the concert.

And if she is awkward, that's just another thing about her I can relate to, because I'm pretty awkward myself. I don't know why people would hate on her for that reason though. It seems awfully petty and mean.
